The application is similar to waxing, but the product used is much sweeter. Made with 100% natural ingredients (sugar, lemon and water) our special sugar paste extracts hair at the root during its early stage of growth, eliminating the possibility of irritation that is often caused by breakage. Unlike wax, sugar is a natural exfoliator that removes dry skin cells around the extraction site, discouraging ingrown hairs from forming. All you’ll be left with is an even, smooth appearance. Sweet!
Does ripping hair from flesh make you giggle? You didn’t book a zen day at the spa, my friend, you booked a sugaring – yes, you can expect a little hurt. But you are strong and you will suck it up, grin and bare it. For the sweetest gain you have to experience the sweetest pain.
Oohs, aahs and squeals of glee are the most common reaction, but allergic reactions to sugaring are extremely rare – even for the most sensitive skin types. If you have a skin condition, please consult with us prior to your appointment.
Skin may be sensitive following your treatment, so please avoid harsh chemicals and exposure to bacteria (pedicures, hot tubs etc...)
Welcome first-timer! You are in for a sweet surprise! Sugaring gives your body a clean, hairless appearance that is best described as addictive. Our Sugaristas will coach you on breathing techniques and expressive language all to help you get through the worst of it. Cry, grunt, yell for your mama – there’s no shame here.
On the day of your appointment, please avoid using perfumes, creams or lotions as they can hinder the sugar from adhering to hair. Also, though we fully encourage it on a regular day, please do NOT exfoliate the day before or the day of your sugaring treatment.
If you are partaking in back or chest sugaring, please bring a clean white cotton shirt to wear following your treatment.
We could go into a whole bunch of reasons why sugaring is better than any other form of hair removal, but we’ll let the result speak for itself. We can confidently say you’ll fall in love with sugaring after your first appointment. Book something sweet today! See Types of Hair Removal
Sorry, sweetie, we book by appointment only. A little time to psych yourself up for the sweet pain is to everyone’s benefit.
It’s an individual choice how often you groom, but we recommend sugaring once a month since hormones influence the cycle of hair growth. Speak to your Sugarista to help determine what schedule best suits your needs.
Well, we don’t turn it into lollipops if that’s what you’re thinking. Every client receives a fresh pull of sugar paste and the used product is discarded after each treatment – never re-used. Our sugar paste is 100% biodegradable and environmentally friendly.
You’ll be so smooth you won’t believe you’re not butter. Body sugaring will leave your skin satiny smooth with ultra soft re-growth that is lessened with each treatment. You will look so, so sweet! Ooh, la, la.

Hormones influence sensitivity to pain. Women are most sensitive during ovulation (12 days before their period), and least sensitive the week following their period. We recommend booking your appointment during this least sensitive time. If you’re experiencing an ‘ugly cry’ while watching the evening news or a Bell commercial then getting a sugar service might not be a good decision that week. Remember every person’s experience is different.
Ingrown hairs can be an issue with waxing or shaving. Sugaring can result in pimples without proper exfoliation.
Make friends with the exfoliating glove or sisal brush my friend. It’s extremely important to begin exfoliating 24 hours after your sugaring session.
Anyone who likes life a little sweeter. Our clients range in age from 14 to 94. Any age, any body type, any gender – everyone is welcome here! Please be aware that anyone under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
Enlarged varicose veins, (or new scars, sunburned skin, warts, bruises, skin tags, lesions, or even raised moles) should all be avoided during your sugar treatment. Please let us know in advance if you have any of these hidden under fuzzy areas as our Sugaristas are trained to sugar around these areas.
Deciding what to do with your pubic hair is a personal decision that’s absolutely nobody’s business but your own. If you love (or simply don’t mind) your hair, great! Keep it! You do you. But if you’ve been reading up on hair removal and decided that a Brazillian is something you want to try for the first time, sugaring is the way to go, and The Sugar Cube has you covered with a fab team of Sugaristas and every answer to all your questions—including, yup, is it really that painful?
Sugaristas are what we call our highly trained, and compassionate employees who preform your sugaring services. They are skilled masters of their craft, committed to delivering a hygienic and professional experience while providing you with the information, motivation and tools that will help you look and feel your very best!
Exfoliation and hydration of your skin after your sugar treatment is essential for best results. Start exfoliating the skin using your exfoliation glove from The Sugar Cube the day following your sugar treatment. Daily cleaning and exfoliation is important to maintain clear skin between sugar treatments. Keeping your skin hydrated with a lotion or cream that is all natural can be beneficial to maintaining healthy looking skin. Using razors or depilatory creams to remove hairs in between appointments will interfere with the goal of diminishing your hair growth and other benefits of body sugaring. Proper aftercare is important for optimal results.
Regular extraction of your hair during the first phase of your hair’s growth (the Anagen Phase of hair growth) can lead to permanent hair loss. When hair is extracted at that length it pulls some of the follicle wall out with it each time eventually causing it to collapse. This is why we suggest that your legs and pubic areas are done every 4 weeks

Yes! Some clients plan their hair removal service during that time of the month. We ask that you use a new tampon before and after your service.
Your Sugarista will move the string around as required as it doesn’t interfere with the sugaring process. Don’t let your period hold you back - some clients feel the service is less painful during their period.
